weekly update

sorry to do this to you again blogland, but you'll have to make do with a collection of bike photos from the last week rather than anything more substantial.
i really will be back into this soon.

new boots and panties

new boots and panties
i can't help it looking all arty and that. it's a 50mm lens at f1.8...

life is pretty crazy at the moment.
i have what should be a sedentary, office based job. but i am crazy busy. i haven't had a minute today. 13 hours of non-stop madness...
i thought that i have been busy before but never like this - it is busy to a whole new level
what amplifies this feeling is that the things i am dealing with are so huge.
i am making decisions and judgements that will effect people's lives. one wrong keystoke here and someone's performance assessment will be a fraction lower and they'll be out of a job.
some of these people are friends
some i have known for 18 years!
but their life, their future, the future of their families and children are all in my hands.
one extra coffee/chunky kitkat and the caffiene/sugar rush could have someone on the dole...

my friends polish beer, pinot noir and single malt are helping me through it*

*i should point out that they are helping me at home and not at work!

commuters ready?

commuters ready?

bike 180 - ride 46
his and hers, ready for the ride in this morning...

after dealing with redundancies, a trip to hospital with one of my staff and the fact that the weather had turned biblical, i decided that i'd borrow a company car and drive home - stopping for a bag of chips on the way.
i borrowed a ford focus st (the ford asbo) in that charming orange colour. strange to have people look at you in quite such a way when you're just filling up with petrol.
the performance of the thing is 'startling' to say the least...

another shit day but my problems (more of which through the next week) are bugger all compared to some.
thoughts and best wishes to those who need it

february round-up

not turbo

for anyone in the slightest bit interested (and i can't imagine that amounts to many apart from my future self), february's ride totals...
commutes by bike = 17 (394km)
commutes by car = 3 (good excuses for each!)
social rides = 6 (303km)
turbo sessions = 2
a lazy month really but it included fun rides in snow, my first brevet and best of all, two rides with gosia - i didn't even have to force her into them!
